STORY TELLING IN A MASSIVE MEDIA LANDSCAPE WITH WALTER MURCH

Focusing on Walter Murch’s career, Gislason and Murch will reflect upon the development of postproduction and the future of storytelling. In his career, Walter Murch has consistently transcended

influence of serendipity as a catalyst for illuminating emotional truths.

Mr. Murch’s other credits include sound re-recordist on american graffiti, sound designer on apocalypse now, sound re-recording mixer on The Godfather: part III, The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain, and others.

VISUAL EFFECTS AS AN ART FORM IN THE FILMS OF LARS VON TRIER

Visual Effects Supervisor Peter Hjorth presents visual effects in the works of Lars von Trier. Hjorth
captured the vision of the acclaimed director with the use of 100 cameras in dancer in the dark featuring Bjork and collaborated with Trier on the dogville experiment featuring Nicole Kidman, manderlay, and Trier’s latest film, the boss of it all.

Hjorth transforms visual effects from technology to an art form with a focus on challenging concepts of perspective, space and movement using techniques like “massive multi camera” and Automavision™ “automated cinematography”.

Peter Hjorth has also collaborated with Susanne Bier (brothers), Anders Thomas Jensen (adam’s apples),
Lone Scherfig (italian for beginners) and Thomas Vinterberg (the celebration).
